Kurz vor der Geburt ihres ersten Kindes fliehen Amanda und ihr Mann auf ein Boot. Amanda bedauert sehr, dass ihr Mann kein eigenes Kind zeugen konnte. Wie glücklich ist sie über die moderne Fortpflanzungsmedizin, die ihr diese Schwangerschaft ermöglicht hat. Als das Boot überfallen wird und Mack grausam ermordet wird, könnte Amanda nicht entsetzter sein. Was wollen die Täter und wieso wird sie nicht umgebracht sondern entführt. Ist den Tätern klar, wen sie da erwischt haben? Die Tat jedenfalls ruft die Sigma Force auf den Plan.
Einerseits zwar von der Routine und der Erfahrung mit einer lang laufenden Reihe geprägt, beinhaltet dieser Roman doch alles, was das Herz eines Thrillerliebhabers begehrt. Atemberaubende Sequenzen, die an Spannung und Schnelligkeit kaum zu toppen sind. Der Stand der Technik, Medizintechnik und Ähnlichem zugrunde gelegt und vielleicht mit ein paar Möglichkeiten außerhalb der Realität geschmückt. Eine packende Story, deren roter Faden sich allerdings durch die gesamte Reihe zu ziehen scheint, denn immer noch wird die Gilde mit ihren sämtlichen Zuträgern aufs schärfste bekämpft. Und wieder tuen sich außerordentliche Gefahren für die Sigma Force auf, da scheint es sogar an deren Existenz zu gehen. Obwohl die Handlungsmuster also einen gewissen Bekanntheitsgrad besitzen, ist die Lektüre jedoch so fesselnd und die Handlung so packend, dass man einfach nicht mehr aufhören möchte zu lesen.
Sigma Force - immer für eine tolle Story gut.
